after looking for the past couple months, you definitely cant get an hvx200 with all you need to shoot mtb (basically enough p2 cards) for 2500, check out the xh a1, thats what I'm considering

i think the best would be get the hvx and shoot tapes, which we did for a while and it looks good, but eventually once you get enough money to buy a p2 card you will be set. we use 32s and never run outa mem on em.

you can't do hd on tape but it looks good its about a half gig for 30 seconds at 720pn which is the best the camera looks at i think. there is no real reason to shoot 1080 because its only progressive it on everything up to 720 and 1080 is interlaced due to some converting lol
